Google to roll out Android 15 to Pixels in October | Infinium-tech
The Pixel 9 family launched with Android 14 a few weeks ago, and so you might be wondering what Google plans to do when it comes to releasing Android 15. According to a new rumor today, the company will only roll out Android 15 to its Pixels in October, perhaps as early as the middle of that month.
This is despite the fact that Google will reportedly release the source code for Android 15 next week. Traditionally, the day of the source code drop was also the day the rollout for Pixels began, but that’s been changing lately, with the Pixel team regularly holding back updates until they’re completely ready.
This gives more time to finalize marketing for Pixel drops, test changes, and fix any last minute bugs. Last year too, the Pixel release was delayed compared to the initial timeline, and it looks like it’s going to happen again for the same reason.
The same source claims that the Android 15 update for the Pixel has been put on hold to improve its stability. Hopefully there will be enough time between now and mid-October to make this a reality.
