Google shows off smart glasses prototype at a TED event | Infinium-tech
In December, Google announced an OS for Android XR, VR and AR headset. Then in January, it acquired HTC’s Vive XR team. It is creating many things and one of them was recently displayed at a Ted event in Vancouver.
Prototype smart glasses were worn by Shahram Isi, head of Android XR. These are not VR glasses, instead they have small displays that can overlay graphics above transparent glass.

They connect with a phone and lend to Google’s Gemini AI to do their magic. On stage, Izadi performed live translation from Persian to English, scanning a book and other uses.
The details are not clear at this point, but it seems that the phone raises the most heavy in terms of calculation to keep the glasses thin and light-which is important for long-term comfort.
Google is also working on XR goggles in partnership with Samsung – Project Moohan device that will probably be sold as “Galaxy XR”. Instead of overlaying the graphics on the glass, these goggles use cameras for Pasithrrow videos, which allow the user to look and interact with the outside world and is also capable of providing complex graphics like many virtual computer monitors. It was also demolished at the Ted event.
Samsung Galaxy XR Goggles will reportly be available at the end of this year and may be quite expensive, costing around $ 2,500. Samsung is also working on glasses that may be launched with glasses. There is no word on when Google’s glasses will be ready.
