Google previews Android 16’s desktop mode | Infinium-tech
The long -awaited native desktop mode of Android is finally coming in Android 16, and Google gave a secret preview during its I/O 2025 developer Keenote. It was co-developed with Samsung-a logical trick gave Samsung experience with dex, which was first launched on the Galaxy S8 series in 2017. The original desktop mode of Android looks similar to Chrome OS, with a line of apps pinned in a taskbar at the bottom. We can see some first-party apps of Google such as Gmail, Chrome, YouTube and Google photos.
It will facilitate “enlarged winding capabilities” and Google also confirmed that adaptive apps will automatically scale for desktop mode, Android automotive and Android XR.
