Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold to come with nicer screens, different aspect ratios | Infinium-tech
At its upcoming hardware launch event on August 13, Google will announce the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Details about the first three of them have already leaked today, and so it’s now time to turn our attention to Google’s second foldable smartphone.
According to a new rumor originating from “a source inside Google,” the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will have a different aspect ratio than its predecessor, with a tall, narrow cover display and a nearly square folding screen.
As you can see in the image above, the new model is rumoured to feature an 8-inch 2,152×2,076 120Hz internal screen with 1,600-nit peak HDR brightness, while the external display will be a 6.24-inch 1,080×2,424 with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,800-nit peak HDR brightness.
This makes both screens on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold bigger and brighter than those on the original Pixel Fold. And while the aspect ratio has changed, it looks like the inside screen is still slightly wider than it is tall, meaning apps will automatically switch to landscape mode when you open this device, just like they did on its previous version.
Like the other Pixel 9s, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is expected to feature Google’s new Tensor G4 SoC, and will definitely be AI-infused left and right.
