Google Identity Check will help protect your accounts in case of device theft | Infinium-tech
Last year, Google introduced several theft security facilities for Android, including Theft detection lock, offline device lock and remote lock. Identification check is the latest security facility, which aims to prevent thieves from reaching your digital accounts in the event of theft.
Some device settings will require biometric authentication when you are not in a reliable place. If your device is outside any one of these places, you have to certify using your biometrics. This will prevent thieves from your device pin, changing biometrics, closing the Find My device, reaching Pasakies or resetting your device factory reset.
The identity check is coming on the pixel phone running on Android 15 (Pixel 6 and above) and will also come on the Samsung devices running on One UI 7 in the coming weeks. Google also confirmed that this facility would be available for other Android OEM later this year.
