Google announces Wear OS 6 with 10% better battery life, first Developer Preview is out | Infinium-tech
Google has made OS 6 official today at its I/O conference. It comes with an already unveiled material 3 expressive design, which will also be included in Android 16 due to release next month. The first developer preview of Wear OS 6 is now available – only for developers, as the name means.
Wear OS 6 brings 10% improvement in battery life than wearing, Google claims, and all this is thanks to “OS platform optimization wearing”. This is very good news if it goes out.
Material 3 is “fully customized for round display”, and brings dynamic color themeing (which is available for some time in Android). The tiles are promised to be “more consistent and shiny”, and Google Tiles is offering a 3-slot tile layout to improve visual stability in the Hindola. It comes with a title slot, a main material slot and a lower slot.
Material 3 expressive optimized to large screen sizes, and is a “iconic design” that maximizes the space within a circular form factor. Navigation through the lists is more liquid, and a new view and speed design makes you easy to imagine your progress through a list. Media control is also increased. The clock faces will be able to include the photos you choose.
Wear OS 6 “will be available at the end of this year”, Google is not saying anything less vague than now.
