George Zhao to step down as Honor CEO | Infinium-tech
George Zhao is resigning as Honor CEO with immediate effect. The news was reported by Chinese media, which stated that health concerns led to his decision to step down.
The board of directors accepted his decision, reports Daily Economic News. The new appointee will be Li Jian, a former Huawei executive with over 20 years of experience in the mobile communications sector.
CLS China’s brief statement did not provide any details about Zhao’s decision or status. The new CEO began his career at Huawei in 2001, steadily progressing through the ranks to become a member of the supervisory board before departing in 2020 to join Honor in 2021.
Before his promotion to CEO, Li Jian previously served as vice president, director, and president of the human resources department. They will need to deal with the challenging scenario of joint stock management as the company is set to launch its IPO in the near future.
