Samsung Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra may have launched with a UI 7, but when it comes to a UI 8, they will have to wait for an over-the-air update like all other Galaxy. This may come soon with expectation, though.
The first UI 8 beta build for the Galaxy S25 Ultra is seen by Tarun Vats. The new firmware is S938bxxu3zyea / S938boxm3zyea / S938bxxu3Byea.
Given a generation, Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra received a UI7 Test build in May 2024. Many delays pushed a stable rollout in April of this year. However, it was a major update that made a UI parts of the firmware significantly rebuilt, not only the base Android OS. A UI 8 will reportly construct at 7 and be a simple update.

The first phone that will run new software out of the box will be the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, which is expected in late July or early August.
Interestingly, the previous Galaxy foldables have launched the Galaxy S series of the year (with just a modest version update) with the same prominent one UI version. This shows that a UI 8 is ahead of 7 with its development, was at the same time last year.
Samsung is already looking further further, suggesting with leaks that it is working on a UI 8.5 for the future Galaxy S26 series.
