Apple reportedly chooses Alibaba over DeepSeek for AI features in China | Infinium-tech
Apple is interacting with a group of Chinese companies to offer AI services in China, and today, according to a new report, Alibaba is chosen. Thus Apple has passed the AI Hype Darling of the last few weeks on the lampsake.
In December, Apple was talking to the Bidens of Tencent and Tiktok to secure AI partnership, and in the past it is also rumored to talk to Baidu. But in the end, if today’s report is accurate, Alibaba rises above the rest.
Apple requires a local partner in China for AI facilities as the Chinese government has to approve any genital AI services in the country, and it is in favor of local companies as you expect. This is why Apple Intelligence is still not available in China.
However, this may soon change. Apple and Alibaba have allegedly presented the first set of co-developed AI facilities to the Cyberspace Regulator of China for already approval. It is not clear how long the process of approval can be, but Apple is definitely trying to move faster because the main software development of the last one year (Apple Intelligent) is missing in action in one of its biggest markets. .
