Apple releases iOS 26.2.1 and iPadOS 26.2.1 | Infinium-tech
Today, Apple released iOS 26.2.1 and iPadOS 26.2.1. Although as the numbers show, these are small incremental versions of the software, they do bring a significant new feature to both iPhones and iPads.
This is support for Apple’s second-generation AirTag tracker, which was announced today. It comes with a new UWB chip, which supports precision finding. It can guide you to your tracked item from up to 50% away. The new AirTags also have an upgraded Bluetooth chip with extended range and a 50% louder speaker.
And with iOS 26.2.1 and iPadOS 26.2.1, you can now control the second generation AirTag. Additionally, according to the official release notes, the new software release also brings with it some unspecified bug fixes.
To install the new release, simply go to Settings > General > Software Update on your eligible iPhone or iPad and the download should begin immediately.
