Apple is considering tandem OLEDs for its 2028 iPhones | Infinium-tech
According to a recent report of AlecApple is currently evaluating plans to bring Tandem OLED display for iPhone. Display Tech made its debut on the iPad Pro (2024) and layered two OLED panels over each other. Benefits include high brightness output and low power consumption.
Apple is currently evaluating the optimal leading OLED display for the iPhone, and it clearly prefers a simplified implementation for a one for the most recent iPad professionals used on the most recent iPad professionals. A simplified leading OLED will still include two panels, including the second OLED layer only contains blue subpix, while the primary panel is red and green. LG Display allegedly contacted Apple about a simplified tendem OLED display, and Apple is also interacting with its other leading supplier – Samsung display.
Apple usually conducts a standard two -year program for growth and mass production, and the new report states that in 2028 the iPhone will appear first with a pirate OLED. While the report is not in detail about which model of iPhone will get new display technology, it will probably be a special feature for the Pro model.
